Purpose & Description:
For this project each group had to choose two diffrent body systems and represnt how they work in a creative way, we choose digestive and excretory. We were given about a week to build and create each system in a creative way. My group and I used this time to also work on our presentation and project. At the beging of the project we worked quickly we had one entire body system done within two days but after another group destroying it we had to go back to base 1. After that it tooko us about four more days to finish both body systems. On the last day I did the script. Overall it took about a week to finish the project and we were given 2 and a half so we were often off task.
Science Terms:
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: the system by which ingested food is acted upon by physical and chemical means to provide the body with absorbable nutrients and to excrete waste products
MOUTH: The oral cavity located at the upper end of the alimentary canal that opens to the outside at the lips and empties into the throatat the rear, and containing structures for mastication and tasting especially in higher vertebrates
ESOPHAGUS: the esophagus is a long, thin, and muscular tube that connects the mouth to the stomach used to conduct food and liquid to the stomach
STOMACH: the stomach is used to break down and digest food in order to extract necessary nutrients. In order for this to happen the digestive glands must produce various enzymes.
SMALL INTESTINE: the small intestine is used to absorb 90% of all digestive food and drink. it is 4 times longer than the large intestine and .6 times thinner.
LARGE INTESTINE: the large intestine in used to absorb the other 10% of all the digested food and drink. Both intestines are tube like linned with velvety tissue.
EXCRITORY SYSTEM: The excretory system is a passive biological system that removes excess, unnecessary materials from the body fluids of an organism, so as to help maintain internal chemical homeostasis and prevent damage to the body.
DORSAL AORTA: The first step in the excretory system which channels the liquid comes from.
RENAL VEIN: after the dorsal aorta liquid passes through the renel vein and they channels it to the kidneys
KIDNEYS: the kidneys microscopic functional is that it filters blood to produce urine, contains around 1 million individual nephrons. The nephron is made up of 2 main parts: the renal corpuscle and the renalt tubule.
URTERS: The urters are tubes made up of smooth muscle fibers that propel urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder.
URINARY BLADDER: The urinary bladder is a muscular sac in the pelvis just above and behind the pubic bone. It's purpose is to store urine allowing urination to be infrequent and voluntary.
URETHA: The final step is the uretha which is a tube that connects the urinary bladder to the urrinary meatus for the removal of urine from the body

How they they work together
The digestive system works in parallel with your excretory system. While the digestive system collects and removes undigested solids, the excretory system filters compounds from the blood stream and collects them in urine. They are closely connected in controlling the amount of water in your body.

Reflection:
I feel this was a very good project and my group worked very well together. From the begining we all were given parts of the project to do. John made the excritory model, Jovais the digestive model, and I helped with both and wrote the script. A peak in our project was the overall communication our group had. It was very good. Another peak in the project was when we finished and were able to present the final project to the class. A pit we faced in the project was our work ethic our group often would leave the class and weren't always present, this could be due to the fact we were given too much time but overal we should have been more in task. A huge pit in our project was when we had to completly restart due to anyther group destroying our finished digestive system model. This was difficult because for a group with not the strongest work ethic to complete somthing then have to go back and do it entirely again was unmodivating. Overall it was a good project and our group never had any arguments.
